Look at those teeth!


This entry may be short as we have to pack up and head to Guangxiou. Now that Luke is ours, we have to let him emigrate, so we'll be doing some time at the American Consulate.



Luke continues to improve. His big news is that he has been eating cracker crumbs. And not just begrudgingly as we force it down his throat, more like a baby bird. It takes him forever to chew on them and swallow them, but we are thrilled to report that he is doing both. Learning to swallow and use his teeth.



Did we mention that he has teeth? He has stubbornly refused to open his mouth since we got him. This has been a cause for major concern because we couldn't think how we could ever get him to eat solids without us prying his jaw open (doesn't exaclty foster the love for food we were hoping for). But yesterday, we got great big beautiful smiles all day long. We rewarded him (and ourselves) by skipping bathtime.



We didn't do much yesterday in terms of China. We visited Porcelaine(we have no spell check!!) Street where the best porcelaine in the world is made. It was beautiful. Porcelaine is rated on several scales like diamonds are in the US. We bought Luke a little reminder of home, but not much else. Porcelaine does not travel well and our arms will be full of Luke on the trip home.



We had a nice dinner with the other families who adopted from Nanchang. We feel so lucky to have had such a great travel group, and it has been so much fun to see all of the beautiful children come out of their shells and blossom!
