With the arrival of summer and movie season, we can't help but compare Luke to a Superhero! Sledge Hammer would be his name. Little boy adopted by people from a distant land (like Superman). Placed in a Supersuit (like Ironman) which he uses to fight evil. Or in Luke's case, just to smash everything. His enormous casts have become weapons of destruction. He doesn't play with his toys, he rolls over, puts them under his feet and bludgeons them. His poor casts are, however, becoming increasing beaten down, dirty, and yes, it must be said, peed on. We cannot wait until this Tuesday when the disgusting things are removed, and our son becomes a "mild mannered baby," once again.
Casey was asked to do a quick artist's rendering of Luke as Superhero.

The poor beaten remains of his casts. Can you smell them from where you are?
All kidding aside, we are giddy with anticipation. We are can't wait to see what his feet look like! We are dying to kiss his toes, and and also put him in a bathtub!!! This will be the first of Luke's many challenges that he can mark off. Then, he gets to start physical therapy for the muscle atrophy in his legs as a result of the casting. We are sure that he will attack this challenge with the same good natured enthusiasm that he has everything else.
We also have him set up for an appointment with the feeding clinic the first week in June. Although he is doing better with food, God knows, he still has days where he decides that food is a hilarious joke that he needn't waste his time on. Grrrrrrr. So hopefully, the clinic will advise us on how to get him to eat more solids (chewing..he gets an "A," swallowing he gets a "D")
Grits!!! He is from Georgia!!!
