Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes

Best Picture...EVER!

Have you noticed our bold new look? We hired Artistry Blog Designs to re-do the look of our blog to make it more us-like. We asked her to go for sort of a Peter Maxx meets Monty Python look and she totally rose to the occasion. Sadly, Rebecca has decided she doesn't want to do anymore blogs, so we can't send any customers her way. On the upside, we're unlikely to have any knock off's. We like to think she went out with a bang!

Me(Mike) and the eldest 2 went to the wedding of Mike's niece, Elise (this is what happens when old folks adopt, you end up going to weddings and wondering if your niece's kids will hang around yours). The first comment out of most people's mouths when they saw us was, "lovely to see you...where's Luke?" Casey and Ross were remarkably good sports about this, and had a good time anyway. Casey caught the bouquet, Ross ran away from the garter. Then we drove back same day so we could be home for Mother's Day.

Casey and Ross (they clean up pretty good)

Casey and the bride, Elise (Elise wore Sketchers under her dress...cool!)

Casey and her Cousin, Sean

Caught the bouquet...now what?

In other changes, we used our George W. money to put a new roof on our house. One of those things you pay no attention to until you get one. Now we belive we have the loveliest cottage-y looking ranch in Atlanta. Every time we drive up to our house now, we go "OOOOOOOOH!"

OOOOOOOOh!

Anne is now back to work so the "It takes a Village" child care schedule has begun. Mondays it's Grandma, Tuesdays belong to Gaga, Wednesdays are Great Aunt (Tante) Ann, Thursday is Gaga again, and Friday's belong to Daddy on his new way-cool Friday's off work schedule. Granted, this all goes on hiatus when the kids and Anne get out of school next Friday.

So what's up with Luke? He is on week 2 of his three week casts, however, he spends his days pounding them against whatever he feels like (the floor, the high chair, our knee caps, the carseat), and managed to pulverise one of them. I had used the duct tape method (this is for real, it's what you're supposed to do for minor cast repair), but by the morning, his left foot was covered in plaster powder and duct tape, so in we went for a replacement. The substitute, Dr. did the repair job. This guy is hilarious, he's semi-retired, and described by others as the man who knows most about pediatriac othopedics in Georgia, and he's totally into Star Wars. So Luke's getting patched up while the MD tells about the snotty attitude of the guy who plays C-3PO. Brilliant!

We also met Luke's speech therapist who declared his input excellent and his output delayed (he understands speech well for his age/nationality, but his babbling is mediocre, probably due to the lack of good hard sucking). She's going to help us with speech and eating therapy (Hallelujah!!!).

Next big changes, Physical therapy for the muscles in his legs which have atrophied due to casting, then, regular old catching up physical therapy. Then there's the other surgery (undescended testicle/hernia). In my head, I hear the conversation I have with teenage Luke..."Dad! Why'd you write about my junk on the internet!?!" Hmmm, I'll worry about any therapy related to that in 12 years.
