The Good, The Bad and the Ugly!

The Good!

We went to a feeding clinic last week (who knew that feeding clinics even existed) which was one of the best Doctor's visits we've had since getting Luke. We were taught all kinds of tricks to get him to eat; given food suggestions that never would have occurred to us (Cheetos Puffs-big, disolvable, and strong flavored, so he can practice finger foods without the choking risk and get tongue stimulation all at the same time). She was wonderful. And, she's an Occupational Therapist, so we found one of the missing pieces to our Luke's "It takes a Village" approach to healthcare. Now, if we can only get our Physical Therapy started it would feel like we we're making more progress.

Also, the parade of visitors has begun. Luke's presence has made more of our friends and loved ones want to come see us this summer. We are very excited about them all. First up...gruff but lovable Uncle Ross.

The Bad!

The Bar. The Stupid, Stupid Bar. Luke was a happy baby. He could deal with surgery; adoption by the pale giants; malnutrition, and casting, all with the ability to bounce back quickly. Until the Bar came along. It makes him cry; it keeps him (and us) up at night and has made him unusually fussy. Lack of sleep has turned us cranky and a little bit goofy. Hope there's no heavy machinery in our future.

The Ugly!

Atlanta. Summer. If you've never experienced the two together, count your blessings. Since Luke has come to us; traveling this summer is pretty unlikely; which means we have 4-5 more months of 90ish weather, in the muggiest city on Earth. Yikes! Pray for us.

And what do intelligent Atlantans do when it's 1000 degrees outside? Why we go camping of course! Nothing cools you down like sleeping in a canvas house! Luke, thus far, is an excellent camper, however, maybe we'll wait until fall before we go again.
