Birthdays and New Tricks

Happy Easter?

Ross' favorite birthday present was his great grandfather's cane!

Happy 12th Ross!!

Casey's professional head shot wouldn't upload. We felt this had a similarly professional quality.

Gaga's favorite birthday present!

Lots of milestones going on in our house! Our oldest son has turned 12! Rather than plan something huge (given our recent return from China and our desire not to have a sleepover that would keep Luke awake), Ross was allowed to pick 4 friends and we rented a suite in a nearby hotel, set up the laptop, game cube and the indoor pool, ordered pizza and let em go at it. The Party of 5 was up until 4 and a splendid time was had by all. We checked out the next day, no cleaning, and went home. Ross said it was his best birthday ever. Funny how that works, the most poorly planned birthday turns out to be his favorite.

Casey was cast in a play written by Atlanta author Melissa Faye Greene. We spent Saturday attending Casey's play/dinner/silent auction. The extra fun part was that we surprised Anne's mom for her birthday. She got to see a play written by one of her favorite authors and her granddaughter performed in it! We got to dress up and act like grown-ups! It was our first time leaving Luke with a babysitter. Luke, of course, was delightful for his sitter, our friend Amy. He flirted, ate a turkey sandwich and went to bed like a champ. He made us very proud. If you checked out the video already, you'll have seen his newest trick. He can roll!!! Another delayed milestone conquered.

His casting is going pretty well. He's on his second set, and he is handling it without any big problem. The only major problem so far is the removal of the first cast. Any guesses how they do it? With a saw!!! No. we're not kidding, it's bad enough they appear to be cutting into your kids leg with a saw, but the noise is so scary . Luke sobbed and screamed, he was so afraid. He gets to go again every Thursday for the next 5weeks.

Final milestone. We have been Luke's parents for 6 weeks now, so the attachment therapy where we are the only one's who can hold him is over. Just in time for Gaga's birthday! All those wishing to hold him can get in line now!

Love the birthday idea, I might steal that for my daughter's next b-day, the big 13. Luke is SO darn cute! So happy that he's making such great progress!

Happy Birthday Ross! Your party at the hotel sounded wonderful for all. Casey, congratulations for being selected for a play.

Luke's milestones are wonderful--rolling over and eating a turkey sandwich. Tremendous progress.
