The Ladies at Little Scissors Translating
Luke is Wearing a special hat to fit his little bean head knit by Kim!We have been trying to upload pictures that go with this post, but Blogger won't let us, so we'll try later today to add them!
The ladies at Little Scissors have cut our kids hair for years, and also, being from Taiwan, have also helped us translate a note we sent in a care package to Luke's foster family. Since Luke has been looking a little shaggy, of course Little Scissors was the place to go for his first haircut. We also had a question about a little label that was sewn into the undershirt that Luke came to us in. It was small, and the softest fabric, and had Chinese written on it. We didn't know if it was from the orphanage with Luke's name on it, or something else, so we brought it to Little Scissors to see if they could help us. When Lee, who is the owner's niece, and a Lakeside student saw it, she read a little and said, "No, you have to cut it out and unfold it, it is a letter!" Wow! Another clue to Luke's previous life, such a precious thing for Luke when he gets older! Lee cut it out and lo and behold, unfolded the soft fabric and there was another letter from Luke's foster mom. She told us, among other things, "We could not help his health, but we gave him so much love!" We believe this is true, Luke was a very sick baby when we got him, but he knows what love is, and responds to people in a trusting and calm way. We are so happy to have this for Luke and so very thankful to that kind woman who loved our son so much.

The letter is an amazing gift for Luke. I wonder why she had to hide it? What if the ink had washed away! Luke looks great. I look forward to meeting him.

A most handsome young man! The video clip of him eating and cooing is just fabulous! love it. I also love Luke's new diet.

Luke is so adorable! I'm glad to read that all went well coming home. Later, after you're settled in, I look forward to meeting Luke and seeing you all again.

What a handsome boy! He already looks like a new boy from China -- much healthier & more alert looking. And what a treasure, finding that letter.
