February 17, 2008. It can’t possibly be two years ago today that we finally met Luke. It seems like he’s been in our family forever, and it also seems to have passed with a wink of an eye. Is that possible?
He was so small and weak when he was placed in our arms. It was such a bittersweet meeting, wonderful and terrifying at the same time.
Two years later, we can look back on Gotcha day and remember the positive; the feel of his hands, our wonderful travel group, Evelyn our guide, how weird it was that we were in China anyway, and we can be grateful that that was the day we got our beautiful boy.
Two years later he’s been through 3 surgeries, 12 casts, 2 braces, 1 flood, weekly physical therapy, occupational therapy, feeding therapy, speech therapy, 1000 gallons of Pediasure, and of course, Hurricane Lilah, his little sister.
Happy Gotcha Day, Lukey! We love you, so much. Thank you for bringing us such absolute joy.

Time flies once they are in our arms! He looks so big, it is hard to believe that he was that tiny little baby.

Such a big and handsome boy :-)
You don’t know me, but I followed your trip when you were in China adopting Luke. I thought about Luke today, and decided to try to find your blog again. It is great to see how he looks now. What a difference two years makes!! And you have another little one too. Congratulations!!!
