LID

The LID.

04/04/07. A day that will live in famy (what is the opposite of infamy?). This is our Log In Date (LID from here on out). It is the day we are officially on the books in China. It means we are officially waiting. We we're so excited, our entire being has been put into getting this date. we have been telling people and expecting this great reaction. But in general, people are telling us "oh...great...what does that mean?"

It means, we're in. It means we're on an official timetable. It means we beat the May 1 deadline when all the rules of adoption in China are subject to change. It means we got the ding-dong Holy Grail of red tape.

It means, we're expecting!!! Our "official wait" has now been 2 days, and Anne already is finding it unbearable.

So, if we mention the LID to you in conversation, the appropriate response is "YIPPEEE!" or "FABULOUS!" Not "yes...hmmmmm...and what is that?"

So...now what?

Casey has officially moved to the basement, we're having our carpet removed and hardwood floors re-done (thanks Mum), and are about to embark on the longest nesting period of all time.
