Here in Atlanta we have been waiting impatiently for the weather to get cool. Actually we have been moaning, complaining and whining about the heat. Up until last week it has been consistently in the 90's, and impossible to take the little guys out for long both because of the sweltering heat, but also because of the mosquitoes. Everybody has had cabin fever, and for Lilah and Luke that means they have been systematically dismantling the house in their boredom. This weekend we could FINALLY open the windows, play outside without a slimy mixture of bug spray and sweat all over us, and enjoy the Fall weather! We saddled up the mini van, and headed for the North Georgia mountains for some fabulous BBQ, and some apple picking. What a great day! I know it is cliche, but one thing about having toddlers again is enjoying their enthusiasm and JOY about simple stuff. Easy to forget that when you are faced with toys flung everywhere waiting to be picked up, cotton balls stuck FAR up little noses, and a certain almost 4 year old who still won't poop anywhere but a diaper....But I digress, back to our perfect day. It was a champ, cool and clear, happy children, little hands pulling so hard to get that perfect apple way up high in the blue sky!
